Álmos Ágoston (6, Siófok)

Álmos wished to spend a few days together with his family in a very nice hotel. His dream came true in Sikonda at the splendid Hotel Ambient.

The „usual” daily program was to swim and bath, then to make excursions as the wheather was excellent for such activities. One day the family could even visit Pécs and go to the famous Zoo, too.

Álmos likes to play snooker; at the hotel he had the possibility to practise his knowledge.
The whole family had a great time during these few days vacation.
The family was were really thankful for the possibility of being together in such a nice place...

Many thanks for supporting Álmos' wish to our private sponsors, among them the students, teachers, and parents of the American International School of Budapest and also to the management of the Hotel Ambient for their kind help and hospitality.

Our Magic Lamp team, 12-year-old Kira, 10-year-old Robi, 11-year-old Zoli, and 17-year-old Gergő, met on the morning of May 12th 2017, at the airport. Our destination was Paris and then on to Euro Disney. Our intention, to discover the world of fairy tales.

The flight was already an exciting experience for those kids who were flying the first time . After landing in Paris, we got on the TGV, which, speeding along at up to 320 kms per hour, took us to Euro Disney in 10 minutes. We stayed at the Sequoia hotel. The hotel’s really nice ambiance, the warm welcome we received, and the great programs organized for the kids all put our little group into a very happy mood. Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and many other cartoon characters visited the hotel several times a day. This provided ample opportunities for the kids to have their photos taken with them. We rested a little after checking in, then set out to discover the park even though it was raining. The real exploration, however, only happened in the next couple of days, when the sunny weather was more conducive to outdoor activities. Adults and children were equally enchanted by the beauty and the spectacles of the park. The kids were having fun all day long in the world of magic and fairy tales, trying many different attractions. They rode on the miniature train, shot at aliens, drove a Cadillac, and got to know different cultures on the “ it's a small world“ ride. Robi’s favourite experience was when Darth Vader personally ordered him to faithfully serve the Empire. Kira of course, preferred the world of fairy tale princesses and the castle of Sleeping Beauty. The high point was the afternoon parade of Disney characters, where princes, princesses, fairies, pirates, and animal characters in marvelous costumes paraded down the road, riding in carriages, on dragons, pirate ships, singing and dancing. The evening was finished with spectacular fireworks. Next day we still had a chance to enjoy the park until 4 pm, because our flight to Budapest left late.

We returned home from the magical land of tales exhausted, but full of enchanting experiences.

Ottó Dávid (17, Budapest)

David's dream was to see F C. Barcelona play a match in Camp Nou.

Our flight took off from Budapest on Tuesday early morning, so I met David and his father at the airport around 4.30 am. Since they had never flown before, they were very excited and happy to finally travel by plane.
We landed in Barcelona in beautiful sunny weather. We took the metro to our hotel, conveniently located just a corner away from Camp Nou.

Next day we decided to visit the futball museum and the stadium. We marveled at the different trophies, such as the golden soccer balls of Messi, and the different pictures and videos.
It was very heart warming to see the statue of our fellow Hungarian, László Kubala. Naturally we took several photos in front of it.

Camp Nou is the largest futball stadium in Europe. We had a chance to see the change rooms, the press room, and even the chapel on our stadium tour.
Of course we spent plenty of time in the gift shop at the end.

In the afternoon we did some sightseeing, then walked down to the beach to check out the sea, which was another first for David and his father.
The following day we visited awe-inspiring La Sagrada Familia. We had never seen anything like that before. It cannot be described with words, everybody must visit it once if possible. There is nothing like that in the whole world. The exhibition about the life of Gaudi, his work, and the construction of the church was very interesting and informative. It made us appreciate this marvelous piece of art and architecture even more.

Next day was the big day, the day of the Game, Barca against Osasuna. Because it only started at 19.30, we had the whole day for more sightseeing. We had great seats, quite close to the field, and luckily covered, as we found out when 20 minutes into the game it started raining. Before the start of the game a huge banner was lowered on the opposite side thanking Messi for the 500 goals that he had scored in the Champions League games. Then the eagerly awaited match started.
The first goal was scored within 20 minutes by Messi of course. Then the goals started coming in quick succession, with a 7 to 1 end result.
The game was spectacular all along. After the fifth goal we had a discussion about whether there would be one or two more. Well, it was two.
After the game we had a great dinner, then retired.

The following day we visited another landmark of Barcelona, the Güell Park.
Unfortunately it was a rainy day, but the park was still a fantastic experience. Sadly next day it was time to go home. After another early start, since our flight was delayed, we had plenty of time to browse in the shops at the airport.

After a pleasant flight David returned home as a happy, cheerful young man, full of exciting experiences.

Many thanks in the name of David to the British International School, the Personal Banker Network of Fundamenta-Lakáskassza Zrt. and our private supporters!

On a nice and sunny Tuesday afternoon, we appeared with an Olaf cake at Polli’s house. She was very happy, she did not even suspect that something was going on in her yard.

While Zoltán Mátrai and his colleague built the long-awaited surprise, Polli has entertained us. We played hide and seek, baked and cooked in her little play kitchen, we draw and we laughed a lot.

Polli's big wish was to have a playground with a sloping slide in their yard! We could fulfill her dream on her birthday.
When the playground was ready, we had the little girl out to the yard. She saw the playground from the terrace and she became speechless, she covered her mouth with her hands as she was so surprised that her wish came true!!!

We would like to say a special thank you to the leaders and members of XpatLoop, the largest Hungarian expat community for organizing the Budapest Bonfire Night Party for Charity and with the money raised at the event making Polli's wish come true.
