Tamás Kristóf (15, Budapest)

Ketrin, Dorina, Dávid, and Tamás had been eagerly awaiting this Disneyland Paris adventure. Our journey was filled with touching, emotional moments.

It began with the warm, friendly welcome from Wizz Air at the airport. Ketrin’s worries and fears—not only about flying but also about the strange-looking device that lifted both wheelchairs up to the boarding level of the aircraft—quickly faded thanks to the encouragement of the Wizz Air staff. Onboard, in addition to a kind welcome, the children received special attention. Later, they were even invited into the cockpit and continued their exciting journey as happy recipients of gift packages.

Upon arriving at the elegant Disneyland hotel, another surprise awaited the children’s team: a new package filled with games and treasures. At the reception, we were met by Francesco, a French-speaking Italian volunteer, who became our friendly, resourceful, and highly attentive guide for the afternoon exploration. He expertly helped us reach the various attractions and shows on time, and we greatly appreciated his local knowledge and willingness to assist.

The Pixar film Together, accompanied by a live orchestra, the personal encounters with costumed characters, and the open-air and indoor adventures set in various magical worlds—by rail, roller, water, or air—all offered unforgettable experiences for both children and parents. It’s true that the more thrilling adventures evoked mixed feelings among our more daring team members (like the free-falling elevator in the Tower of Terror).

By the evening of the first day, the group was so tired that we postponed the fireworks until the following day. We later regretted this decision, as the Easter weekend crowds grew even larger by then. Still, we watched in awe as the fireworks were enhanced by a dazzling light show, dancing drones, and a beautiful musical soundtrack.

Fortunately, with the Wish card, we received priority access and special attention everywhere, though even with this, navigating the crowds in a wheelchair was not easy. On the second day, the large group split into smaller ones—the boys ventured into the bolder, more action-packed "territories." The spectacular parade of storybook characters brought tremendous joy and excitement to the children. Magnificent floats and costumes passed by, and everyone watched in wonder. During our walk through the park, we witnessed several touching moments when passing characters gave special attention to the girls in wheelchairs—with warm smiles, kind words, hugs, high-fives, and of course, the obligatory group photos.

On the final day, our time was limited due to our return flight, but we still made room in the schedule to relive our rat’s-eye-view dash with Rémy through the thrilling dangers of the Ratatouille ride—amid giant feet and towering kitchen equipment.

By the end of the trip, the children were filled with a thousand new experiences and were thoroughly exhausted—not surprising, considering the enormous “MAGIC package” they received in just a few days.

On behalf of Tamás, we would like to thank Wizz Air Hungary Ltd, Disneyland Paris, Jet Travel, Henkel Magyarország Kft., the team of 'Csudapest' community server and Paplovagnak, and our private supporters, among them Tímea for making Tamás’ dream come true.
