Anna (7, Debrecen)

Anna had an old tablet, so she knew exactly how much fun it was to play games and watch stories on it. But the old tablet didn't work well, it had to be sent to the service many times. So, the little girl wished for a new tablet that will work reliably.

The Genie of the Magic Lamp took action soon and Anna was really happy to get her new tablet.

We would like to thank Henkel Magyarország Kft. for fulfilling Anna's wish.

ROZI AJÁNDÉK (14, VESZPRÉM)

It was Rozi’s big dream to visit the Akropolis of Athens once.

Rozi and her mom took their professional camera and their telescope as well to the road, to capture the experience. The first surprise hit the family at the gates. A voice from the loudspeakers called for Rozi and Virág and said that they could board the plane, before the other passengers, where the crew received them. It was a huge experience for Rozi that she could even sit in the cockpit, she met the pilots and she took part in the preparations before the take-off. She even got a plane mock-up as a gift which was signed by the whole crew.

In the morning we landed in Athens, and after checking in we went for a long walk. We had lunch in a cozy, authentic greek inn, and later in the afternoon, we went sightseeing on a bus to visit the sights of Athens. Rozi enjoyed sitting on top of the double-decker, from where she could see the city.

The following day we visited the Akropolis, which consists of more than 20 building complexes, from there we could see the Theatre of Dionysus as well. We watched the changing of the guards in front of the Parliament which follows a strict choreography. In the afternoon we looked around the bazaar of Athens too.

We spent the last day at the beach where Rozi was swimming obliviously in the picturesque surroundings.

Here is a quote from Rozi's letter of thanks to the Magic Lamp Foundation:

Dear Magic Lamp! Thank you so much for the opportunity to visit Greece! When I left the cockpit I said " it was worth, even if I should go home now".
Those 3 days were an everlasting experience. I haven't learned about Greece yet, but I will understand everything better when I know what happened there 2500 years ago! Thank you again for the opportunity and thanks to Boglárka Áchim for accompanying me! ❤️

We would like to thank E.ON Hungária Zrt, Wizz Air Hungary Ltd, and our private donors for their support, among them Ms Gabi Lukéj, Dr. Tiborné Jenei and Mr Vilmos Hegyi for helping Rozi’s dream come true. We would like also thank the Marriott Hotel Budapest, the ibis Styles Budapest Airport Hotel for their help with the hotel reservation.

ALEX (18, BUDAPEST)

Alex had been waiting three years for his wish to come true. He loves nature and wildlife so he asked us if we could take him to Norway to see the fjords.

This was before the Covid restrictions, and since then Alex has gone through a lot of challenges, but he waited patiently for his dream to come true.

We prepared for the trip with great excitement, but organizing the trip was a challenge at its best. We aimed to start our trip at a fairy-tale-beautiful small town of Bergen, as we knew that countless boats leave from here every day for shorter and longer fjord tours.

Alex had the first surprise still in Budapest: thanks to our supporter, Wizzair, he could visit the cockpit checked the plane from the outside with the captain and in between got lots of interesting information about flying. Plus he got as a present a small Airbus from the crew.

We visited Mostraumen and Flam among the many possibilities; the first tour almost took us back to the age of the Vikings. We sailed between high mountains falling into the water and saw many waterfalls, and on the second trip, we stopped in several small villages and admired the beauty of the Norwegian landscape. This trip lead us into Sognefjord that is one of the longest fjord in the world.
During the trip, we also learned that this is the deepest fjord in the world, about 400 meters deep. The landscape was incredible, many birds accompanied us on our way, which made Alex extra happy as he loves birds.

/ 13

In addition to sailing, we also had the opportunity to walk around the small village of Flam, even collect pebbles from the stream, and take many beautiful photos of the diverse landscape. You could almost bite the clean air and all the peace that flowed from the mountains, I believe that it will give him a lot of strength on his road to recovery.

During our short visit, we also had the opportunity to go for a walk in Bergen, that lies between the sea and mountains; we took the elevator up the mountain, and from there we could enjoy the beauty of the surrounding landscape as part of a several-hour walking tour.

I am sure that this trip will be a lifelong experience for Alex, and will give him the strength to be completely healthy as soon as possible.

Special thanks to our sponsors, Wizz Air Hungary Ltd, the captain and crew of our flights, the MVM Energetikai Zrt, our numerous private sponsors,
including the employees of Vak Varjú Restaurant for their donation, Magic Lamp supporters who participated at our charity dinner this June, the donors on INLOCK Kripto platform and Dr. Jenei Tiborné, for making Alex's dream come true. Many thanks to Zsuzsa and Gábor representing the Hungarian community in Bergen, that they made this magical trip even more beautiful with their kindness. We would like also thank the Marriott Hotel Budapest for their help with the hotel reservation.

It would have been much more difficult without you!

TAMÁS (13, MEZŐCSÁT)

Barni and Tomi had the same wish, for which they both patiently waited two years. We traveled together with the children and their parents.

We met before the long-awaited departure day because our plane left very early the next day and we all live several hours' drive from Budapest. Fortunately, we had the opportunity to spend the evening at the airport hotel. This gave us some time to get to know each other, and talked about our plans and I replied to all the questions while eating our delicious dinner. We all agreed that we are looking forward to the departure and the many experiences that await us.
Two very nice young men who work for WizzAir helped us with the early departure.

The first person to help us was Bence, with whom we had already agreed by phone the day before where and when we would meet. He guided us through check-in, and baggage drop-off and accompanied our small group from the bus to the plane. The surprise only started after the captain announced the names of Barni and Tomi on the plane, that he would welcome them on board separately. Afterward, a very nice and helpful steward, Zsombor, talked to the two boys separately and gave each of them a gift in the name of the entire flight crew, in a package signed by everyone. It was very touching, even for the parents. We guessed that they knew about us, but none of us felt that kind of kindness.

Tomi and his mother flew for the first time in their lives. Of course, we managed to arrange that Tomi could sit next to the window, and since we were sitting up front, the wing didn't interfere with the perfect view, and due to the clear sky, neither did the clouds.

We arrived in Paris, where none of them had been before, so everyone got to know the main sightseeing spots before we continued to Disneyland. Seeing the Eiffel Tower was a special experience.

We traveled to Disneyland on the RER, which took us straight to our destination. Upon arrival, we first got off the "train" and tried to grasp the scale of the place. We arrived at a large square, from where we tried to get to the accommodation at the Disney Village. We saw noticed that the entrance to the famous, big destination was very close, as well as to the Disney Studio (which I didn't even know existed a few days before the departure), but we weren't headed there for the time being.

The biggest surprise was the hotel, or more precisely, there were 3 hotels on the shore of a lake, one of which had the accommodation, which was decorated with a nautical theme (the other was New York and superheroes, and the 3rd, forest-bear-nature...).

We took another quick rest and the awaited “miracle” arrived in the early afternoon… we entered Disneyland. Everyone had ideas and fantasies about how it is going to look and feel to be at Disneyland. It's hard to describe what awaits you there. On the one hand, there were a lot of people, on the other hand, beautiful we saw beautiful buildings everywhere, as I imagined a small town in the 20s in the USA, with themed park areas (Wild West, Aladdin, Mexican, pirate-rocky, for little girls, for small children, Star Wars...), and the right in the middle of the park there is the Disney castle.

The children first targeted the first big roller coaster... and then the next one, and the one after that, and in the meantime, we also looked at the smaller attractions, but after a few hours, everyone had their favorite roller coaster, attraction, and topic of conversation. There was a separate roller coaster in the mine, on a mini-steam train, Indiana Jones style, which also stood on its head, Pirates of the Caribbean went on the water, and underground, but the fastest, every mother’s nightmare was Star Wars, which was almost entirely in the dark went…

/ 17

In the evening, we had a buffet dinner during which we discussed the next day. The plan was to visit the Disney Studio, which is a little smaller than Disneyland, and where the Marvel heroes were housed, of course almost all of them included a roller coaster. We were also in the Tower of Horrors, which took place in a broken elevator of a haunted hotel..., here we learned what free fall is in a few seconds that seemed to last forever.

On the second night at Disneyland, everyone watched the night show at 11 pm. We concluded that the reason for the late show being so late is because it is not completely dark at 10 pm. The light show is a great experience and it is the perfect ending to a day at Disneyland. A short story of the Disney characters was projected onto the castle, which was made unforgettable for everyone with a fountain play and fireworks, while, of course, soundtracks played during the show.

The following day the time has come to return home. After a delicious breakfast together, we decided that everyone already knows the main places, routes, and attractions in the park, so we went on our separate way for a few hours that were left until the departure of the airport shuttle bus. Some wanted one last big roller coaster ride, some tried to get Thor's hammer for their brother.

The trip home went smoothly and quickly, almost everyone was a regular passenger and everyone was thinking more and more about how good it would be to return home and tell the family about this great experience, which I don't think can be processed in such a short time. Even after a long time, these wonderful memories will bring a smile to your face.

We gratefully thank our sponsors, the managers of Wizz Air Hungary Ltd., ground and flight crew, to the Euro Disney Associes S.C.A. WISH program, the Budapesti Értéktőzsde Zrt., the ibis Styles Budapest Airport hotel and our private sponsors, we were able to make Banabás's dream come true!

KRISZTOFER (13, BUDAPEST)

Krisztofer wished for a Samsung Galaxy mobile phone from the Magic Lamp Foundation, to keep in touch with his friends and classmates during his time in the hospital.

He will be able to listen to his favorite music on the phone and, of course also play games on it.

We gave the mobile phone to Krisztofer right after a medical check at the hospital, which "made his day".

Thank you for the support of Magyarország Kft., which enabled us to fulfill Krisztofer's wish.

SZABOLCS GYULA (17, VÁC)

Are there any big boys who do not want to learn how to drive?

If there are, Szabolcs is definitely not one of them, since he wished for a driver's license. Magic Lamp is happy to help Szabolcs to achieve his goal. He has been attending driving school and, according to his instructor, he is very good. He only needs few more lessons, and then he will be ready to venture out on his own.

Dear Szabolcs, we wish you a successful driving exam and safe driving!

BALÁZS (13, EGER)

Balazs is a patient young man.
He had been waiting for his wish to come true since 2019. Balazs wanted to visit Disneyland, but unfortunately, COVID interfered with his travel plans. We recommended Balazs to change his mind and wish for something else, but he decided to wait.

But in 2022, his wish got finally granted, and he reached the realm of fairy tales and magic!

Thanks to Wizzair, the magic already started at the Budapest airport. It was Balazs's first ever flight. He got invited into the cockpit by the captain, who even let Balazs sit in his seat.

The flight to EuroDisney went by quickly, and after a quick transfer came the next magical experience: Newport Bay Hotel. Balazs was utterly captivated by the hotel's architecture, interior, and, of course, its lighthouse. Even though I was pretty sure about the answer, I asked Balazs and his mom whether they wanted the watch the evening fireworks, even though they had long and exhausting travel. The answer was a definite yes.

What else could it have been; since it was Balazs's 13th birthday. The Wizzair crew congratulated him on the flight, and now the fireworks- he could not have received a more marvelous gift!

/ 9

During the following two days, Balazs explored the rides and attractions, including Aladdin and the Magic Lamp, roller coasters, Indiana Jones, and many-many more. On the last day, we visited Disney Film Studios, and Balazs had a chance to enjoy his favourite Star Wars ride and have a big fright in the free-falling elevator of Hollywood Tower Hotel.

Unfortunately, the magical experience was drawing to an end, and it was time to board our Wizzair flight back to Budapest.

Balazs and Magic Lamp want to thank Wizz Air Hungary Ltd., Euro Disney Associes S.C.A., E.ON Hungária Zrt., and our private donors, among them Show and Game Zrt., for making Balazs's wish come true.

DOMONKOS (8, BUDAPEST)

Domonkos likes to wander around, travel, and "see the world".

Another thing that can keep his attention is music. He likes to listen to many kinds of music and sometimes dances to it. Domonkos is greatly influenced by his brother, so he asked Csodalámpa for a hand-held game console just like Benedek's. He ended up getting a Nintendo Switch, for which he also received additional games as a gift.

Thank you for the support of the Budapest Marriott Hotel that enabled us to fulfill Domonkos' wish!

His wish from Csodalámpa was a Nintendo Switch, with which he also received games as a gift to pass the time during hospital treatments.

We wish Benedek a speedy recovery!

TAMÁS (17, SZOLNOK)

Tamás’s wish was a pool and the Magic Lamp Foundation granted his wish over the weekend.

I met a very sympathetic young man at his home. The pool was set up in the backyard already.

Tamás played water polo before the accident, which he missed very much during his many hospital stays, so he didn’t have to think much about his wish.

He spent a few days at home between hospital treatments, so he was able to dip his toes in the pool alongside his friends. In addition to his recovery, he also keeps his studies in mind, and he will have his final exams at the end of the summer.

He can’t wait to take full advantage of the pool, which his current medical condition doesn’t allow.

We wish you strength and perseverance in your recovery and good luck with your exams.

Thank you for the support of Henkel Magyarország Ltd., with their help, we were able to fulfil Tamás' wish!

OSCAR (8, TATA)

Oscar asked for a cell phone from us, to basically play games on it.

His father accompanied him at our fundraising dinner gala held at the Corinthia Budapest Hotel.

Oscar was not a little bit shy on stage, he cheerfully answered the questions asked by Péter Geszti MC, who also hinted to Oscar that a phone could be used for many other things, for instance chatting with friends.

Oscar's wish was granted by the hotel's director, Mr Pace, who personally handed over the requested Samsung smartphone to him.

We thank Oscar and his father for attending our gala dinner, it was an honour to have them. A huge thanks go to our private sponsors, also to Mr. Péter Geszti and the Corinthia Hotel Budapest, and of course the gests of the gala-evening for helping us fulfil Oscar’s wish.

FERENC (17, RÁCKEVE)

After some thought, Feri asked Magic Lamp for various computer parts and a monitor.

His story is not unusual: his mother told us that one day he came home with a swollen knee after an active day at school. It was compressed, cooled, and the swelling went away.

Then, about half a year later, the swelling reappeared, but then the compression did not help . They went to the doctor to get it checked and the next day they were already in the hospital…

Although we planned to grant his wish very differently, I had to hand over his presents right in the middle of one of his pre-surgery chemotherapy sessions - hoping to cheer him up a bit.

The treatments are unfortunately very hard on Feri, he is constantly feeling sick and dizzy, but even so he acknowledged the gifts with a faint smile.

We would like to thank the management of the Corinthia Hotel Budapest, Mr Péter Geszti, and our private sponsors for helping Feri forget his troubles and the medical treatments he is experiencing that still have a long way to go.

ALEXANDRA (13, BUDAPEST)

Alexa had a dream of swimming with dolphins. She was excited about the fabulous trip to Malta where her wish would be fulfilled.
This was the first time for the girl to be on an airplane and the flight attendants made her flight really unforgettable. She had even an opportunity to meet the pilot and visit the cockpit.

We arrived to Malta and the amazing moments went on. From the airport, we were taken to the elegant Corinthia Hotel, where the hotel staff gave Alexa a warm welcome and she immediately became a VIP guest. The spacious room with the terrace overlooking the sea, the swimming pools under the palm trees, the delicious breakfast and the attention and kindness of the staff charmed the little girl, who felt like a real princess during those few days. Sightseeing tours were organised by the hotel to make her stay more enjoyable.

Finally, it was time for taking part in the the long-awaited program in the Marine Park.
Certainly, the sea lion show, the parrot show and the dolphin presentation all were very interesting, but the highlight of the day definitely was the Dolphin Interaction Program: Alexa got a special swimsuit, then a short training was held about how to communicate with the dolphins. A few minutes later she entered the seawater-filled pool, where she could joyfully and happily swim with her favourite animal, the dolphin.

Alexa’s dream came true and I am sure, this weekend will remain a life-long memory!

JÁNOS (11, BUDAKESZI)

May 6, 5:00 p.m. Liszt Ferenc International Airport.

There are lots of excited traveling people, but there is a big boy out of everyone who is much more excited about flying than anyone else.
Jankó, 11 years old, had the dream of seeing his favorite team - including famous football players like Messi, Neymar or Mbappé - play football.

The Magic Lamp flew him to Paris to watch one of the matches of the Paris Saint-Germain team in its own stadium.
Even flying was a new and fantastic experience for him. He was escorted to the plane as a VIP guest, where he had the chance to visit the cockpit and to talk to the captain.

He was truly impressed by Paris itself and together with his father they visited every sight they could. And on the long-awaited day, he saw several of the world’s greatest football players in real life.

He was indescribable happy. He said,
“I would have never dreamed of making it to Paris, let alone sit in the stadium of the best team in the world, and watch them play while they were celebrated with a standing ovation by the fans. Thank you so much for the many experiences, smiles, kindness and last but not least the LOVE.”

We truly thank our supporters, the Wizz Air Hungary Ltd, the Marriott Budapest Hotel, the Hesse Trade Kft. and our private sponsors for being able to bring together such great joy to Janko and make his dream come true!

An old dream came true for Flóra on a weekend in May: she went to Disneyland, Paris.

Because of the closures, travel restrictions she could only day-dream about this trip for a long time but her enthusiasm didn’t shrink at all.

Despite the late night arrival she was exploring Disneyland from early morning till late night, immersing in its wonders. She really felt special as she did not have to wait in line ever, she was entitled to jump the queues and she could watch the parades, the evening fireworks from the best spot.

This was enhanced even more by the kindness of Wizzair: she was greeted with special attention on board, she could even explore the cockpit with the captain.

This weekend will remain a life-long memory for sure!

Football means everything to Benedek!

He plays in a team, regularly watches the matches, especially those of the Hungarian league, and knows everything about football. He would easily tell you the exact line-up of a large number of football teams worldwide, by heart. His dream was to attend a major international game, and he has managed to see no less than one of the most prestigious matches in the world, between Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid, in Madrid of course.

Even the travel to Madrid was exciting because this was the first time for Benedek to be on an airplane. Colleagues from Wizzair have done everything possible to make his flight unforgettable. He has received VIP treatment, he could learn about the aircraft and meet the pilot. Before the big game, he had some time to see the main sights in Madrid. He has enthusiastically strolled on the streets of Madrid’s downtown and could not possibly miss the famous Bernabeu stadium, the home of Real Madrid.

Of course, the most important experience was the match itself where the fans have created an incredible atmosphere and Benedek could see some of the world’s best players in real life!

We would like sincerely thank the help of Wizz Air Hungary Ltd, Henkel Magyarország Kft., Schneider Electric and also that of our private supporters, among them Tamás and his friends that made us possible to realise Benedek's dream.
