To be precise, not simply one year, but the FIRST one!

Magic Lamp (or wonderlamp) Foundation began its activity in September, 2003. In the first four months we were able to grant two wishes, while during the next four months another twelve. By September 2004 - we can call it the "first financial year" - the number of fulfilled wishes reached over 30.

We have covered a great variety of wishes, including theatre performances (e.g. The Phantom of the Opera), helicopter-ride, visiting amusement parks or encountering famous musicians. We offered gifts like personal computers, toys and many other things. There have been two "major" wishes of two children, Judit and Dezső. Judits dearest wish was to travel to the sea, while Dezsős dream was to visit Legoland. Judit wish was fulfilled in August: she spent her holidays in Trieste with the support of the Associazione Nova Europa. In September Dezső spent two days in Legoland, Germany.

Apart from these, many other events took place in the past one year. After having fought through some administrative difficulties (e.g. tax reports), thanks to the support from our patrons we managed to organize two very successful performances at IBS theatre. We could not have managed to grant so many wishes without the donations received from our guests and donators, as well as the contribution of several companies.

A few words about the assistants, who have enriched the life of thirty sick children. Apart from the members of the Board, there are only three volunteers who help us. Hopefully, there will be more! Since the activity of the foundation covers the whole country, it is almost impossible to reach every destination from Budapest, therefore we are looking for helping hands from all over the country. We need volunteers, who are eager to take over the mission, and could represent our goals in their own regions or towns.

What about the future? The most urgent task is to create a professional organization, which would provide a countrywide supporting background for the foundation. The basis of this organization have already been laid, but the shortage in our capacity has become quite severe, since we have not thought of achieving so many goals in this relatively short period of time. Nevertheless, we are very satisfied with the success.

We have more specific plans as well. We would like to organize another charity performance in spring 2005 for WONDERLAMP foundation. The programme and the date have not been confirmed yet, but we aim to maintain the high standards of our performances. Certainly our supporters will receive the announcements in time.

Finally, I would like to express my thanks to the active members of the Board and to our supporters for their contributions, which made it possible to brighten up the lives of so many children.
